Crescendo Concert Series – The Seiler Trio
The Crescendo Concert Series, which supports the College’s Arts Scholarship program, is our gift to the community, and a demonstration of HSC’s ongoing commitment to the importance of the arts in our daily lives.
In our second concert of the season, we will welcome the Seiler Trio to the Virtue-Fitzgerald Centre for the Arts on Friday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. The Seiler Trio brings together three outstanding Canadian musicians, exploring the great traditions of the piano trio repertoire with their unique blend of intensity, passion and generosity, along with forays into different styles and new Canadian music. Though formed only two yearsago, Mayumi, Rachel and Angela have performed together for the past seven years, with the Via Salzburg Chamber Series, Ensemble Made In Canada, and the Mercer-Park Duo.

Me to We Committee Supports Neighbour-to-Neighbour
In November, our Senior School Me to We Committee put together a fundraising event called Moroccan Night Out with the aim of raising funds for the Neighbour-to-Neighbour (N2N) Food Bank in Hamilton. The evening consisted of a three-course authentic Moroccan meal at the Ancaster Old Mill, student music and dance performances, speakers, and a silent auction. The event sold out and everyone in attendance thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Based on the generosity of the HSC community and the hard work of the Me to We Committee, the school was able to present N2N with a cheque for $6250 last week at chapel. Doug Farraway, the Director of Development at N2N, was thrilled with the donation and shared the many ways that the cheque will be used to benefit N2N initiatives. He later tweeted, “Whopper of a cheque from Hillfield Strathallan from their me2we program. $6,250 in support of programs at N2N in #HamOnt Thanks”
